Welcome to the Yakity Yak Kayak Club Trust
If you're reading this then you've already made the first step to taking your kayaking interest further. Whether you've already kayaked before or an absolute beginner, our kayak club is a friendly place to learn to kayak, develop your skills at your pace and really discover some amazing kayaking mates and destinations in New Zealand.

The Yakity Yak Kayak Club was established in 1992 the club has helped to develop many thousands of kayakers, taking them to destinations all over the Country.

The Club gives you the opportunity to access trips being run by well trained and
experienced volunteer leaders, meet some amazing people and visit some of the most scenic places in New Zealand.

The club is a not-for-profit trust and is run by dedicated and passionate volunteers who want to encourage others to experience the pleasure of kayaking.

Our club has many opportunities to get you out on the water, whatever you fancy and whatever your level of ability. the majority of our members are using sea kayaks, however if you fancy using a sit-on top it should be fine, as long as it is over 4 meters long and can carry the equipment
safety for the trip, talk with the leader to confirm. There is a bunch of us who love paddling rivers so look out for these trips.

To keep everyone safe and the trips fun for the volunteer Leaders, all new members must attend a
commercially run day long kayak course, run by the clubs sponsor Canoe & Kayak. This Course will help you develop the foundation skills required for you and the Club to be safe on the water.  These courses will also give you the confidence to do more than you expected and perhaps do trips you wouldn't have considered before, safe in the knowledge you are surrounded by like-minded, experienced, supportive people and trained knowledgeable leaders.

Annual membership is $75
individuals $115 for couples & families.

Canoe & Kayak Hibiscus Coast, Albany, Auckland, Botany and Waikato stores offer club members a 10% discount on a wide range of Kayaking accessories.
Canoe & Kayak also hold two places on every Enrolment Course for club members to do a free repeat and brush up their skills and confidence. There is no charge unless you need a kayak.
