Sandspit to Matakana Markets 15 May 2021

Meet at Sandspit – the beach on the left of the Sandspit Wharf at 08.30am for 9.00am launch. Unload boats then park the cars.

Paddle up the river to Matakana, pull up the boats and hop over to Matakana Markets.

Enjoy good coffee, yummy eats, and a bit of shopping before heading back down the river to Sandspit. Returning by 2pm.

The trip is 9km return and suitable for beginners.

Bring some money, a shopping bag and suitable clothes and shoes for the markets.

Wheels may be handy for our return when the tide is low.

If you need a hire kayak you will need to arrange that yourself through C&K North Shore, or C&K Sandringham.
