General Plan |
A relaxed mixed sport winter weekend based at Mangakino – paddle two days and cycle or hike one day… suitable for all paddlers and non-kayaking partners. Renting a cosy house with a good supple of firewood! Fri night – meet at Mangakino, near Tokoroa. Do your own thing for dinner. Toss ideas and weekend plans around…make up a Trip Plan or two. Saturday/Sunday/Monday Paddlers - possibilities are Lake Maraetai or the lakes either side, Waipapa or Whakamaru. Probably two hours paddle, lunch break and two hours return. Cyclists can do their own thing - see www.waikatorivertrails.com) Hikers – see Pureora Forest Park tracks. Mt Pureora summit is one option. Sat eve. – Shared dinner. Let Ruth know your ‘signature’ dish or be assigned a category of food e.g. pudding!! Sun eve. – Sunday roast. Meat, root vegies, gravy, the works… Ian will be head chef, you may offer to cut up the pumpkin or make the dessert. Probably $15 each. |
