Motuihi Island Tree Planting

Motuihi Island

Tree Planting with Paul Hayward and

RICOH NZ Ltd

Sunday 15th June 2014

As an retired employee of RICOH Richard Saysell was again asked to participate in this function and to invite “guests” to accompany him on the 8.5 K paddle there from St Heliers Bay (opposite the park), leaving at 9AM . Unfortunately, as he is co- leading another trip on this date, he can’t make it this year but the 11th RICOH NZ annual tree plant being held on Motuihe Is on Sun 1915th June 2014 will carry on without him and Paul Hayward has kindly agreed to lead the trip instead.

However Richard will still be administrating up to the date though.

As those who have attended in the past can testify, RICOH NZ provides a substantial catered barbeque lunch and beverages to refuel you after a couple of hours of tree planting, making this a most enjoyable day, and all this with the satisfaction of doing your bit towards the restoration of this Island Jewel on Auckland’s door step. It is planned to plant in the same area as we have done over the past 5 years or so, so the result of previous trips is now very satisfying to see.

We usually leave the Island around 3 – 3:30, back at St Heliers around 5 at the latest.

You will need to bring-:

Water bottle, sturdy shoes, dry thermals, a tarp and/or fly if you have one, and possibly a rain jacket if the weather is looking showery.  All the planting equipment is provided.

For catering purposes we need to know numbers by Monday 9th June. No booking, last in the food queue!!!

Please book online, and leave a contactable phone number, as this trip will be cancelled if the weather doesn’t come to the party.
