YYNS Martins Bay to Kawau with Peter Beadle Sun 09 October

Kawau Island from Martins Bay on 9th Oct
General plan is to:-
 
Plan A:-                               

Meet at Martins Bay beach at 0900 for 0930 departure.
We will head for Kawau Island – probably via Beehive Island (above) – then to Poplar Bay to visit Ruth. Returning after lunch and relaxation break.

Off water by 1530
 
Plan B:-  

If the wind is unfavourable – then we may be able to paddle up the Mahurangi River to Warkworth from Snells Beach (Dawsons Rd) or look at a coastal paddle.

Tides:-                 Low – 0723 (0.9)              
                           High –1355 (2.8)
Distance:-            Kawau return about 17km
                           Warkworth return about 14km
Skill level:-           Suitable for strong beginners if winds under 15knots
