Day Paddle – To Kawau Island for Music In the Gardens
Music in the Gardens is a fundraising event supporting Coastguard and the Kawau Emergengy Services.
The bands/performers this year are:- The Renegades, Nairobi Trio, Chris Sanders.
It will be necessary to book your tickets for the ‘Music In The Gardens’ online prior to the event-

Food and drinks can be purchased at the event (no BYO alcohol)
As we are paddling back after the event it will be essential to be VERY moderate with any alcohol consumption!
The Plan
Meet at Martins Bay beach on Saturday 18th February, at 1000 for on water at 1030.
Paddle to Beehive Island and then the coppermine on Kawau, enroute to Mansion House where “Music in the Gardens” is due to start at 2.30pm.
(Based on previous events it is wise to allow time to choose a good spot for viewing, space, shade?)
After the music we paddle back to Martins Bay as there is no camping on Kawau Island.
It will be getting dark as we return to Martins Bay so an all round white light will be needed to ensure you/your kayak are visible to other watercraft.
This trip is suitable for Intermediate paddlers – Competent Beginners only if calm conditions are forecast.
