Bike Ride - Takapuna to Te Atatu and return

45km approx. Takes a bit over 4  hours including pit stop at the Fuze café. Plan is to group into levels of ability to allow everyone to enjoy trip.

If the ride is cancelled, it’ll be on the following Sunday. Neil will email cancellation a couple of days ahead.

This ride is mostly flat, on paved surfaces and off road. It’s OK for road and mountain bikes.

The route covers:

  • Part of the Devonport to Takapuna Green Route  (flattish, some on road, there’s a short section of metalled surface)
  • Ferry trip Devonport to Takapuna return (flat, on water)
  • Parts of the CBD Cycleways: Quay Street (flat, off road), Beach Road (flat, off road) and Grafton Gully (hill, off road)
  • Ian McKinnon Drive Cycleway (hill, off road) and part of the North Western Cycleway (flat, off road)
  • Part of Te Atatu Road to Fuze café, 566 Te Atatu Road (flat, first bit on path and rest on road. Gets a bit congested with too many cyclists on the footpath all the way).
