Dacre Cottage Traditional Christmas Lunch
The Yakity Yak Annual Xmas get together. Sunday 4th November
Come and enjoy a Xmas feast at the beautiful Dacre Cottage (circa1850) on the stunning Karepiro Beach at the northern end of the Long Bay Okura Marine Reserve and situated between the Okura and Weiti Rivers.
The volunteer committee puts on the annual Xmas lunch to bring the local community together and to raise funds to help pay for the ongoing maintenance of the grounds and Cottage.
Bring along a few one and two dollar coins for some great raffle tickets and funny games and help raise a few extra dollars for this great bit of New Zealand's heritage.

Kayak options:
Join Richard Saysell for a paddle from Longbay beach to Dacre Cottage. Meet at Longbay at 9:30am on the water for 10am. Please Click here to book in for the Paddle
Walking options:
A dingy will be transporting people across the Okura Estuary from the end of Okura River Rd to the sand bar from 10.30am until 10.45am and will return you across the estuary from 2.30pm to 2.45pm. (These times are firm as the dingy and Captain will not be available outside these times due to other commitments in arranging the day, so please do not turn up late.) You will get wet feet getting in and out of the boat and the walk to the Cottage from the sand bar takes about 20 minutes.
Walk from the end of Haigh's Access Rd (off East Coast Rd), allow 1.5 to 2 hours, the new track is very easy to walk.
Walk from Stillwater allow 1 to 1.5 hours.
Cost: per person, Kids under 5 free, Primary school students $5, all others $15.
Lunch will be a huge spread of food that will make your mouth water, just like a Xmas dinner of years gone by.
Any profits raised by the lunch will go to the Dacre Cottage Committee to spend on the cottage and grounds.
