General Plan A fun weekend, based at Kawau Island. Main event is called ‘Music in the Gardens” staged at Mansion House and grounds, Bon Accord Harbour on the Saturday late afternoon and evening.
Come on over on Friday night for some island hopping on Saturday. Staying at either “Hendy’s Roost” or neighbours Gavin & Ruth M’s - marae style or camping.
Friday night – meet on-the-water leader Chris at Martins Bay 6.30pm, on the water 7.00pm paddle to Poplar Bay (western end of Stockyard Bay ) Kawau Is.(7km).
Saturday: Lots of options - island hop to the Coppermine, Beehive Is, Motuketekete, Moturekareka ( 20km) or paddle to Jones Bay, Tawharanui (12km) and go for  bush walk…return to Poplar Bay.
Saturday late aft/ night – 3.30 pm catch a charter boat to Mansion House for “Music in the Gardens”. Featuring The Jazz Age a classic jazz ensemble and Miss Georgia Wood. Wine, cheese, and ham in a bun type food will be available. This event is a fund-raiser for the Kawau Emergency Response Trust and Friends of Mansion House. 
Tickets cost $15 (inc wine glass and entry into a major raffle draw).

 Ruth will give you your ticket on arrival at Poplar Bay. You MUST buy your ticket well in advance. There will be no “door sales”.
Sunday: Could go for a bush walk, have lunch, then paddle back to cars or leave early to beat the traffic.

Equipment Usual safety & kayaking kit, sleeping bag – I will let you know if YOU need to bring a tent. Your own breakfasts and lunches and Friday dinner. Wallet.  (Charter boat cost is $15 each, wine etc will be $5).
Walking shoes/boots. Togs & towel.
Wheels if you have them, for Martins Bay if departing/arriving at low tide.
Emergency Exit Points In Kawau Bay - Rabbit Island and other islands mentioned; Tawharanui Peninsula.
Additional Risk Factors Power boats and yachts. Wear hi-vis hats or jackets and/or have a flag.
Stingrays at low tide – watch out as get out of kayak.
