Meeting at Kawakawa Bay 0830, on the water by 0900.  We will paddle past Pakihi Island, noticeable for McCallum's red chip quarry. Paddling up the Western Side of Ponui Island is indented with many small bays and rock gardens that are worth exploring.  Lunch at Chamberlains Bay.  Then paddling down the Easten Coast is more remote with fewer beaches and high cliffs ,look Eastwards and less than 20km away you see Coromandel Peninsula.
