Courses & Clinics

We offer a range of courses to cater for the absolute beginner, through to the more experienced paddler that may wish to extend their skills.

We also provide training in other complimentary areas such as VHF, Day Skipper's and first aid.

Sea Kayak Skills Course (click for more info)
This is a comprehensive course suitable for beginners or experienced paddlers. You will learn all the skills required to be confident and safe on the water. Course covers: rescues, paddle skills, trip planning and much more. Kayaks and lunch supplied.

The course consists of four consecutive Monday nights in the pool (Lloyd Elsmore, Pakuranga), and a camping weekend. All equipment you need is provided.

Eskimo Rolling (click for more info)
Learning to eskimo roll is easy and fun when you are taught the correct technique. A great skill to build confidence and essential for surfing, multisport and white water kayaking.

The course is run in a heated pool (Lloyd Elsmore, Pakuranga) over four nights. Kayaks supplied.
Rolling courses can be run on demand; simply contact us to advise us if you are coming.

Kayak Surfing
Nothing beats the adrenalin of kayak surfing!. We'll show you how to come in through the surf the right way up and looking good!. An excellent course for those wanting learn to kayak surf or just come in through the surf to land, such as kayak fishermen.

Grade 2 White Water / Multisport training (click for more information and timetable)
A comprehensive package of courses and coaching designed to progressively build YOUR kayaking skills to a Grade Two Racing Certificate level. If you're looking to do the Coast to Coast then you'll need your Grade 2 certificate.

VHF Operator's Licence (click for more information and timetable)
A VHF is a vital piece of safety / communications equipment and knowing how to use one is a must. This course is run over two eveing sessions and the cost includes a manual and your VHF call sign.
