Meet at Sulphur Beach Boat Ramp down under the Harbour Bridge at 6pm for a 6.30pm launch.

We will paddle down to Devonport for a stop on the beach and a bite to eat. BYO picnic and drinks.

Then we’ll paddle back to the best vantage point in the harbour to see the Waitematā explode with colour and come to light with a spectacular show.

90,000 LEDs making up Vector Lights can be individually programmed, allowing for an almost infinite array of designs and effects.

The six minute specially-composed Vector Lights opening show sequence will feature original music and spectacular lighting effects. The show will start at 9.00pm and repeat every half hour until midnight, with an ambient light display in-between. The entire opening show will also be streamed online at vector.co.nz/lights.  Bring your cell phones to hear the music synched with the light show.

You’ll need an all-round white night light 1m above deck and a torch or head torch. Reflective tape on clothing, boat and paddle would be an advantage. I anticipate there could be a few boats in the harbour so we want to be as visible as possible.

We will return at 9.30pm. The trip is a 9km paddle and is suitable for beginners in less than 15 knots wind.
