Friday night meet at the private property of friends of Ruth’s at Jones Landing, Lake Arapuni. (Map will be emailed to you after registration). Set up tents, park campervans… have dinner provided by our hosts.

Saturday – Drive to Lake Ohakuri Dam. Paddle up the NE arm towards Mangatete Stream. Stop at the mai mai with the bicycle water pump (6km up) and at the bridge on Poutakataka Rd.(10km up) Explore the various inlets on the way back.(22km)

Sat night – ‘pot luck’ shared dinner, state your signature dish or be given a suggestion.

Sunday – “Arapuni Dawn” – start the day at 6am, have your own spiritual experience watching the river wake up (6km). Always enchanting! Then after a late breakfast, options include riverside walk to swing bridge and café (3 hrs.) or cycle on Waikato River Trail...or continue kayaking on Lake Arapuni, going up the Mangare Stream.
