VHF's are going digital in 2016! What does this mean for you as a YY VHF user?

Paul Hayward will fill you in on what's happening and what to expect and throw in a little practice as well.

The evening will be in two parts
(a)    7:00 to 7:30 PM - a short review of Personal Locator Beacon options, choice and use - real-world experience from those who use PLBs. What they can do and what you need to do to make them effective.

(b)   7:30 - 9:00 PM - a review of practical NZ VHF use and protocol - for current VHF owners. This is a 
Beyond the Basics for trained VHF operators. Paul will cover Best Practice, talk about digital VHF and mention the significant changes coming world-wide in 2016. This is also a refresher and practice session (so bring your unit) and an opportunity to share our collective wisdom.
