St Helier's to Okahu Bay

Sunday 7 May. Leader is Pauline.

A short waterfront paddle to keep up a bit of paddle fitness over autumn/ winter. Suitable for beginners, distance 10km (1 – 1.25 hrs each way at a gentle pace). If you have recently completed your beginner’s course, and have access to a car with any kind of roof rack, this is a perfect trip for you.

Meet at the concrete boat ramp in the middle of St Heliers, 10am for 10.30am launch. The boat ramp is concrete to the water’s edge, and 2-laned so very easy to unload and turn around.  Paddle around the waterfront towards the city, stopping for lunch at Okahu Bay. Return to St Heliers by 2.30pm, and if you like grab a coffee and/or ice-cream to enjoy on the beach once we have boats loaded onto cars.

You will need to bring lunch with you, as there are no shops at Okahu Bay. Dress for autumn/ winter paddling weather and bring something to keep you warm at lunchtime.
