Rotoroa Island - Saturday 21 May. Leader is Shaun
Depart from the boat ramp at Kawakawa Bay. Paddle in a northerly direction on the outgoing tide past Pakihi Island to the west and Motunau Bay of Ponui Island to the east, proceed north along the west coast of the island and cross over Ruth’s Passage to Home Bay at Rotoroa Island for lunch.
Explore the island and then return to Kawakawa Bay following the same route as earlier in the day.
The return trip will be on an in-going tide crossing the open water past Pakihi Island en-route to Kawakawa Bay.
Meet at Kawakawa Boat Ramp 9.00am, on the water at 9.30am
Suitable for intermediate paddlers, or strong beginners if you know that you can do the distance and maintain a reasonable pace. Estimated distance is 32kms. Helmets advised if planning on rock gardening
