Hauraki Gulf, Easter Weekend

Easter Friday 19 - Mon 22 April 2019 - leader is Shaun and others.         

Based at Motutapu Island.  Come and spend the weekend and enjoy paddling and exploring the neighbouring islands. Do a bit of rock gardening, a bit of sailing or just a bit of touring – there will be something for everyone whatever the craft. Imagine practicing rescues and the like on Easter Sunday!

For sea views - suggest that you book either Salty Sea Dog or Nest & Fledgling - 10 sites on each

Fri 19th April - meet at the St Heliers main boat ramp at 7.30am to be on the water at 8am

Mon 22nd April – return to St Heliers so as to arrive around midday.

Suitable for strong beginners - must be able to competently do a self-rescue.

Weather parameters - Intermediate - surf or swells less than 1.5m and wind less than 25 knots
.

You will need to be self-sufficient in camping gear and food.

Help to protect the Hauraki Gulf’s ‘Treasure Islands’:  Rangitoto and Motutapu are free of animal pests - please check your kayak and gear for rats, mice, insects (including Argentine ants) and weed seeds.
