Lake Okataina

One of Rotorua's most beautiful lakes, steeped in Maori history and clad in native bush. Views of the imposing Mt. Tarawera and secluded beaches for a lunch stop.
Sound tempting? Join us on this 15km circumnavigation paddle and discover this stunning lake. Hopefully this time the wind will be in our favour otherwise we will divert the trip to Lake Rotoiti.
Trip Plan
Meet Irene, who's leading, directly at the lake at 10:30am.She plans to be off the water by 4pm.
(the van and trailer will not be going so any hire kayaks will need to be collected and transported by yourselves from Canoe & Kayak BOP)
Suitable for beginners with reasonable paddling fitness.
Bring lunch and plenty of fluids, plus a change of clothes if you go for a swim.
