Waimapu River

 

Sunday 21st January

This trip has been designed to really utilise the tide times on this date. We'll be paddling from Memorial Park,  round Motuopuhi Island (Rat Island) and up through the Waimapu River, exploring it's upper reaches. We'll have an incoming tide to assist us and then an slack/outgoing tide to help us back. We'll stop somewhere suitable on the river banks for lunch.

In total we'll cover around 12km (depending on how far up the river we wish to explore). Fine for beginners in sea kayaks.

Meet directly at Memorial Park at 9:30am,  Off water by 3:00pm.
High tide 11:11am
Bring a packed lunch as we'll stop somewhere along the banks of the river.
